TOP THIS CHOCOLATE IS ONE YEAR OLD IN VENTURA HARBOR!
What a year it’s been. I just want to take a short moment to reflect on this joyous milestone before I keep moving. I do not want to think about the frightening statistics on new small businesses that fail in a normal year, or the staggering percentage that are predicted to close due to this pandemic. Top This Chocolate is still here and taking it day by day. I resolve to only pay attention to the statistics on whether or not my customers are happy with their chocolate. I love the concern and well wishes that many express. Rather than thinking about the uncertainties ahead, the impending winter, or speculating on when this will all be over...I’m just going to keep moving. The fact that the store is still open says it all. I know that sympathy can only save businesses for so long. I will only succeed if customers really want what I provide. Since Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are good occasions for chocolate gifting, I am hoping that there will still be enough customers to carry us through. However, I have only been open for one year, and with half of that year in pandemic. Sometimes it's a struggle to make the community aware that the store is even here, when many are not out and about. So, the question of whether or not Top This Chocolate will be workable longterm is, well... up to you. Please spread the word and it will be much appreciated. In the meantime, ONE YEAR! I’ll do a happy dance in my head until I feel secure enough to do a second happy dance in front the store. Year two maybe?
